More about the opportunity:
Our current Site Manager will be taking maternity leave in 2024. Therefore, we are looking for someone with significant Aqua Park experience to join our team.
Set in a beautiful nature reserve, the Site at Rutland Water has been open since summer 2016. It is well established with operating procedures in place. We run three Aqua Parks in the UK, so you will be part of a larger management team, giving you the opportunity to discuss and implement solutions with your colleagues, across all of our parks.
We are looking for a natural leader, able to interact with our customers and members of the public. You will need to be organised, to manage resources to agreed plans.
You will be skilled at people management and coaching. Many of our team return for a second, or even third season with us and summer 24 will be no exception. This means that you will have the advantage of having experience in the team that you are managing.
As an organisation we pride ourselves on delivering a fun and safe experience to our customers. You must put health and safety at the centre of everything that you do. An able administrator, you will be able to manage customer correspondence and file documentation on our electronic system.
We use Roller as our booking system, while some knowledge of Roller would be helpful, it is not essential. Full training will be provided in our company operating procedures/systems.
Essential skills: You must have a minimum of 2 -3 year’s relevant experience, e.g., gained at an Aqua Park, or in a water/leisure-based role. Experience of people management is essential.
Desirable Skills: First Aid at Work Training/certification, Lifeguard/Beach Lifeguard Qualification, experienced powerboat driver.
Pay Rate: £125 per day.
You will be working 3 days a week in June and early July, giving you time to explore other cities/areas in the UK.
In our peak season you will be working 5 days a week. Peak season is 14th July 2024 to 1st September 2025.
(Some flexibility may be required to cover absence/illness).
Accommodation & Benefits:
We will pay the full cost of your Working Holiday Visa application (up to $640 AUD).
In addition, we are offering a payment of up to £1,000, in order to book return economy flights to the UK. (proof or purchase for reimbursement)
Airport to accommodation transfer. (e.g. from London Heathrow)
Use of Company van – on your days off (provided you have a full driving licence).
Use of Electric Mountain Bike – for getting to work and local journeys.
Accommodation provided: within reasonable travelling distance of the site (this may have a shared kitchen/dining facility & washing machine).
Entering the UK: If you are an Australian National, of up to 35 years of age, then you can apply for a Working Holiday Visa to come to the UK and undertake paid work. If you are planning on entering the UK via another route, please discuss this with us.
Your Responsibilities: You are required to purchase travel insurance at the time of booking your flights.
About the area: Rutland is England’s smallest County. It is dominated by Rutland Water, the UK’s largest manmade reservoir. There are many cycle paths and footpaths.
Oakham is a busy little market town, with plenty of shops, pubs and cafes.
The town has a train station and it takes 1 hour 50 minutes to get to London.
Easy day trips from here include; the historic city of Stamford, Birmingham, the UK’s second city, Lincoln, with its mediaeval Cathedral, and Peterborough with a modern shopping centre.
